The Tinfoil barb, also known as the Silver barb or the Barbodes schwanenfeldii, is a popular freshwater aquarium fish that can grow quite large. These fish are native to Southeast Asia and are known for their shiny, metallic scales and active personalities.

In an aquarium, Tinfoil barbs can grow up to 35-40 centimeters in length and require a spacious tank with plenty of swimming room. They are also a hardy species, and can tolerate a range of water temperatures between 24-28°C.

In terms of diet, Tinfoil barbs are omnivores and will eat a variety of foods. They enjoy both live and frozen foods such as brine shrimp, bloodworms, and daphnia, as well as high-quality commercial fish food flakes or pellets. It is important to provide a varied diet to ensure proper nutrition and good health for these active fish.
