Fire Eel
Fire Eels are a unique and captivating addition to any aquarium. These eels can grow up to 60 cm in length and require a temperature range of 24-28°C to thrive. They are carnivorous and will eat a variety of foods, including frozen or live fish, shrimp, and worms.
Despite their name, Fire Eels are not actually eels but belong to the Mastacembelidae family. They have a long, slender body with a beautiful, reddish-brown coloration and a distinctive pointed head. Fire Eels are known for their burrowing behavior and enjoy having hiding places in the aquarium, such as rocks or logs.
It's important to note that Fire Eels require a larger aquarium with plenty of swimming space, as well as a well-established biological filter to maintain good water quality. With proper care, these fascinating fish can live for up to 10 years in captivity.
