Boesemani Rainbow Fish are a popular species among freshwater fishkeepers due to their vibrant colors and active behavior. These fish are native to the Indonesian island of Papua and can grow up to 12 centimeters in length. They prefer water temperatures between 24-28 degrees Celsius and a pH range of 7.0-8.0.
In the wild, Boesemani Rainbow Fish are omnivorous, feeding on insects, crustaceans, and algae. In captivity, they can be fed a varied diet consisting of high-quality flakes, pellets, frozen or live food such as brine shrimp, bloodworms, and daphnia.
Boesemani Rainbow Fish are generally peaceful but can become aggressive towards their own species or other fish of similar size and shape. They do best in schools of at least 6 individuals and a well-planted aquarium with plenty of swimming space. With proper care, Boesemani Rainbow Fish can live up to 5-7 years.
